Yes - we'll recommend the size of Sunamp Thermino that's right for the number of bedrooms and residents in your home. We'll choose a unit that will store enough heat for a full day's hot water.

If everyone in your house prefers a daily bath over a shower, let us know, so we can recommend a slightly larger unit. 

If you find you're regularly using more hot water, it's simple to add a short recharge cycle in the afternoon to get you through the evening. And when you have guests staying, it's easy to do a one-off "boost" to ensure there's enough hot water for everyone. 

The Sunamp Therminos comes with a 10 year manufacturer's warranty (on top of our 2-year workmanship warranty).

Sunamp have tested the Thermino for 40,000 recharge-and-discharge cycles, which would be equivalent to 50 years of daily use, with no degradation of the Plentigrade material that's used to store the heat.  

Yes - the Plentigrade gel inside a heat pump is food-grade and non-toxic. It also never comes into contact with the water in your taps, as it's separated by copper pipes.

Unlike a hot water cylinder, the Sunamp Thermino does not require an annual service. 

You can use your excess solar energy to heat your hot water. We'll fit a solar diverter such as the myEnergi Eddi*. The solar diverter watches to see if your solar panels are generating more solar than your house is using. It will turn on the Sunamp heater to soak up any excess solar. 

* extra cost applies. Certain solar inverter models also have an "excess power" port that we can connect directly to the Sunamp.

We allow 2 days for installation. This includes removing your existing hot water cylinder or gas boiler, improving pipework if necessary, and fitting the Sunamp Thermino and all essential components. 

Usually one night.

We recommend showering in the morning on Day 1, before we start work. You should have hot water again by mid-afternoon on Day 2, if not before. 

In general, once it's set up you can forget about your Sunamp Thermino. You don't need an app.

If you have a heat pump, the heat pump controller will manage the Sunamp. You just need to set hot water cycles to run when electricity is cheapest. (We can set this up for you.) 

If you are running the Sunamp Thermino from mains electricity (to replace an immersion heater hot water tank), we'll provide a timer that will ensure it heats up during the off-peak (overnight) periods when electricity prices are usually 25% of the daytime rate.

For a week or two, we'd suggest just leaving it on. The Sunamp Thermino is so well insulated that is loses very little heat each day. If you're charging overnight at a 10p/kWh rate, it'd cost between £0.40 - £0.60 per week to keep it at full temperature, ready for when you get home. 

If you're away for a month or longer, you can simply turn it off with the wall switch. When you return, allow about 2 hours to heat up before you take a shower.
