Say goodbye to gas... oil... fossils...

Switch to a heat pump

Our experienced team will design a heat pump system tailored to your home and install it with care.

"I can’t recommend Cosier highly enough. From start to finish, the service was outstanding. Ben and Mark were thorough, attentive, and worked seamlessly with the rest of the building team throughout the project.

The installation is a piece of art and performs exactly as outlined during the planning stage."
How we work

3 easy steps to switch to a heat pump

Air-source heat pumps run on electricity instead of gas. They absorb heat from the air outside (even when it’s below zero) and use it to heat your home and hot water.

Our team will make it as easy as possible to switch from your gas boiler to a heat pump.

Benefits

Why switch to a heat pump?

Discover why 100,000 UK homes switched to heat pumps last year...

Consistent comfort

Unlike the too-hot-too-cold effect of a gas boiler, heat pumps tick over in the background, keeping your house consistently comfortable, at whatever temperature you prefer

Every room is warm

Get used to every room in your house being a comfortable temperature. No more chilly winter mornings waiting for the living room to heat up.

Radiators that won't scald little ones

If you have small kids, they'll be safer with radiators that are warm but not scalding to the touch.

Forget about your heating

We'll make a few tweaks in the weeks after your installation. After that, you can pretty much forget about your heating. No more playing ping-pong with the thermostat.

A Cosier home

A better way to heat your home...

Zero carbon emissions

Compared to a gas boiler, air source heat pumps use up to 4 times less energy to heat your home to the same temperature. Since heating homes and buildings makes up 18% of UK carbon emissions, switching to a heat pump may be one of the best things you can do to reduce your carbon footprint.

Run on renewable energy

Air source heat pumps are powered by electricity. Switch to an renewable energy supplier, and you can run your heat pump entirely on renewable energy – no more fossil fuel!

No more air pollution

Gas boilers are responsible for 72% of nitrogen oxide air pollution in London.  Unlike a gas boiler, heat pumps don't spit out poisonous gases when they're running.

Environmental impact

...without overheating the planet

An air source heat pump (ASHP) uses the same science that makes your fridge cool, but in reverse.  It absorbs heat from the air outside — even in winter! — and concentrates it enough to heat your radiators and the hot water in your taps. Because it only uses electricity, there's no carbon emissions or air pollution (unlike a gas or oil boiler).

Yes - heat pumps work well even if it's below freezing outside. That's why 2 million Swedish homes rely on heat pumps.

The Cosier team will carefully design your heat pump system to ensure that your home reaches a cosy 21ºC (or whatever temperature you prefer) even on the coldest days of the year.

The heat pump itself goes outside, on a patio, garden or driveway, or mounted to a side wall. We'll work with you to find the best location.

Inside you'll need space for either a hot water cylinder or space-saving SunAmp Thermino. Ideally this would be in an airing cupboard or utility room, but we can also fit them under your stairs. Our tightest installation yet was under the stairs and took up less space than a washing machine.

Not really. The outdoor unit makes a gentle hum — about as loud as a modern fridge.

We have to meet strict requirements, set by the government, to ensure that your heat pump won't be noisy. For example, we'll measure the exact distance from the heat pump to your closest neighbour's windows to confirm that the noise level will be no more than 37dB - about as noisy as a quiet library!

The government's Boiler Upgrade Scheme contributes £7,500 towards the cost of a heat pump and installation. This means that the average homeowner will end up paying between £2,000 - £7,000 on top, depending on the size and complexity of the installation. We can work with you to get a system that fits within your budget.
